We have been successfully spraying lime mortar for over 5 years.
Having modified and fine tuned our machinery and products to enable us to
do this.
We are able to spray:
- Hot mixed renders / slaked lime putty mortars
- Site mixed NHL mortars
- Pre-bagged insulating renders.
Due to our experience & knowledge of machine applying lime mortar we can apply large areas and volume of materials efficiently.
In our experience, spray applying lime plasters & renders is far better than hand application.
Once in the machine the material is delivered via a mortar hose (distances can be up to 100M from mixing areas). As the mortar reaches the end of the application gun, the mortar is mixed with compressed air and blown onto the wall with a small amount of force.
Applying lime mortars in this way helps aerate the mixture and ensures the mortar is applied into any voids or areas that would be hard to access by hand.
We have found that applying via machine helps with the carbonation of the mortar and we are able to apply the mortar in thicker coats. This both helps with application times and minimises drying times between each coat.
We can either spray apply the base coats as apply the finish as standard
or we have developed a number of different machine applied finishes.
Applying a machine applied finish will also reduce the overall drying time needed for either silicate or limewash application.
Depending on the size of the project we would typically have between two - four operators on one job at a time.
Our operatives are experienced in the operation of the machinery and application of the materials.
